If you haven't heard yet Microsoft just announced a huge update to their productivity suite. They are changing the way we work with a new feature of Microsoft 365 called Microsoft Copilot.

This technological advancement employs artificial intelligence (AI) to help you work more quickly and intelligently. It is built on the OpenAI GPT-4 language model, a sizable language model that can produce natural language from a few words or sentences. Your context, intent, and preferences can be understood by Copilot, which can then recommend pertinent material, steps to take, and insights.

What is Microsoft Copilot?

How does Copilot Work?

Copilot has two ways to work: it can be accessed through a new app called Business Chat, where you can chat with Copilot using natural language to get answers, suggestions, and tasks completed, or it can be embedded into the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more.

What can Copilot do?

Copilot is intended to be your copilot at work; it doesn't take your place but rather helps you be more creative, productive, and knowledgeable. Over time, it picks up on your suggestions and preferences and adjusts to your needs and style. Additionally, it respects your security and privacy by not storing any sensitive or personal data and only gaining access to your data with your consent.

Here's a list of some of the things Copilot can be used for:

  • Write emails, documents, presentations, and reports for you based on your keywords, voice notes, or attachments.

  • Give you a brief summary of lengthy texts, meetings, or chats.

  • Find relevant data, files, or information on the internet or in your Microsoft Graph.

  • Make charts, tables, graphs, or diagrams for you using the information in your text or data.

  • Set up appointments, projects, reminders, or follow-ups for you based on chats and emails.

  • Teach you new abilities or tricks for using Microsoft 365 apps more successfully.

How do I get Copilot?

For a limited number of Microsoft 365 users that enroll in the Early Access Program, Copilot is presently accessible in preview. When it debuts in the latter part of the year, it will cost $30 per month. Early users have largely given good feedback, stating that Copilot has improved their ability to concentrate on more fulfilling work, feel more productive, and complete monotonous activities more quickly.

Microsoft Copilot is a productivity game-changer for the workplace since it converts your words into deeds and is the world's most potent tool for productivity. The work of the future is AI-powered.
